Model risk management

Model Inventory

One governed place for your models, their validations and their findings — built for model risk management, configurable to how your organization works.

Model Inventory is a model risk management tool for financial institutions. It keeps track of every model, its owner, its validations and the findings they raise — replacing Excel lists and SharePoint sites with a proper system of record.

It is built around how model risk is actually governed: separation of duties between model owners and validators, a fit-for-purpose assessment per model use, and a full audit trail of who changed what and when.

What it does

  • Models, versions, validations and findings

The full model lifecycle in one place, searchable, filterable and exportable to CSV.

  • Fit for purpose

Each model can serve several purposes, each assessed separately. A model is flagged automatically when it, or any model it depends on, is not fit for purpose.

  • Model dependencies

Record which models feed which, so an issue upstream is visible everywhere it matters.

  • Separation of duties

Validators raise findings, model owners remediate them, and nobody signs off on their own fix.

  • Audit trail

Every create, update and delete is recorded with who, when and a before → after view of the change.

  • Reminders that chase themselves

Configurable email rules for upcoming validations and open findings that are due.

Configured, not customized

Roles and permissions, model types and tiers, statuses, custom fields, workflow and notification rules are all settings in the admin panel rather than code. Simple governance and complex organizations run on the same tool — and changing how yours works needs no new release.

Runs where you need it

  • Cloud or on premise — delivered as Docker containers, with a Helm chart for Kubernetes and OpenShift.
  • Your own sign-in — local accounts with two-factor authentication, or single sign-on via Azure AD / Entra ID.
  • Bring your existing inventory — import models, versions, validations and findings from CSV.
  • Yearly license, with support and training included.

Why move off the spreadsheet

A spreadsheet inventory is simple and straightforward. It starts to cost time once inventory, findings and reporting live in separate files, every overview is compiled by hand, and nobody can say what the landscape looked like last year.

  • Model inventory

    In a spreadsheet

Free-form rows, kept consistent by hand.

    With Model Inventory

Structured from business unit down to model version, with controlled values and a taxonomy owned by admins.

  • Validation findings

    In a spreadsheet

Tracked in a separate file or tool; connecting them to models takes manual work.

    With Model Inventory

Linked to the model and validation they came from, with follow-up rounds and the reviewer's decision.

  • Reporting

    In a spreadsheet

Overviews compiled by hand from separate sources.

    With Model Inventory

Dashboards from day one, generated from one source and always current.

  • Historical view

    In a spreadsheet

Holds today's state, not the landscape on a past date.

    With Model Inventory

Time Machine: the model landscape as it stood on any past date, for audit and supervisors.

  • Access and audit

    In a spreadsheet

File-level permissions; who changed what is hard to enforce or trace.

    With Model Inventory

Roles per user, SSO, two-factor login and an audit log of every change.

  • Switching over

    In a spreadsheet

    —

    With Model Inventory

Docker install, and a CSV import of your models, validations and findings.

Cheaper than the manual work

Keeping the inventory consistent, linking findings to models and compiling every overview by hand takes specialists' time, year after year. For most teams that costs more than the yearly licence, and it is time your model risk specialists could spend on the models themselves.

And building it in-house?

An in-house solution can work, but it is usually the more expensive route: it has to be developed first, and then maintained for as long as you use it.
